This piece was made slowly, in my rural cabin in northern British Columbia, where quiet days and long winters shape how—and why—I make. The Arrowhead block has a strong, grounded feel to it—directional without being sharp, traditional without feeling fussy.
I design these quilted goods to be useful first. This runner is meant to live on a table: catching crumbs, holding a vase, grounding a room. Nothing here is rushed. Each step is done with intention, from cutting the fabric to the final stitch. It is hand quilted and hand dyed using natural indigo.
About the Piece
A handmade quilted table runner featuring the Arrowhead block, constructed for everyday use. Clean lines and balanced quilting give it a calm, steady presence—equally at home in a modern space or a more traditional setting.
Each piece begins with raw cotton that I scour and prepare before hand dip-dyeing it in a natural indigo vat. The fabric is dyed in small batches, allowing the blues to build slowly and unevenly, creating depth that can’t be replicated by commercial dyeing.
Once dyed, every piece is cut by hand, pieced for strength, and finished with big stitch hand quilting. Those visible stitches aren’t decorative extras—they add softness, flexibility, and a lived-in feel that gets better with use.
