Potholder Trio Set (Hand Dyed with Indigo)

These potholders started the same way most useful things do around here—because I needed them. Something sturdy enough for hot cast-iron handles, soft enough to live on the counter, and nice enough to leave out. I made one, then another, then kept going until they felt right as a small set.

Each one is hand dipped-dyed several times in small batches using natural indigo. Some feature subtle shibori patterning—a traditional Japanese resist-dye technique—so no two are ever exactly the same. The dyeing, the quilting, the finishing are all done slowly, with plenty of time in between.

They’re beautiful, hardworking pieces. Built for real kitchen heat. Meant to be used daily, not fussed over.
