Stockyards and Barrel Races is a 36 x 36" machine quilted wall hanging made in black and white.
This piece is deeply meaningful to me. I designed and made it after my beloved heart horse, Phaja, passed away. At the time, I wanted so badly to hold on to her and honour her life with something beautiful.
But after I hung it, my heart broke all over again. I took it down, folded it up, and tucked it away.
She deserves better than that.
This piece was made to be cherished. It’s beautiful, and it deserves to be seen, loved, and appreciated — not hidden away. I’ve made the difficult decision to part with it in hopes that a little piece of her story can live on in someone else’s home.
